Earth Day 2016 w/ Google Logos and Facts

Happy Earth Day everybody! Sorry for not posting in a while. Today, school is closed for me in honor of this special day. Remember to take extra care of the planet. Appreciate the beauty of nature!

You can plant a tree, ride a bike instead of a car, compost waste, recycle, and more to help the planet! Google has made several new logos that show up in each new tab or each time you reload. I will be showing all of them.

They have one to highlight each of Earth's five major biomes: tundra, forest, grasslands, desert, and coral reefs.

The one above shows a polar bear in the Arctic tundra.

This one shows a fox in the forest.

An elephant in the grasslands.

There is a tortoise in the desert next to cactuses.

Finally, the one above shows a giant octopus under the ocean next to a coral reef.

Fun Facts About Earth Day

  • Scientists say that the Earth is over 4.5 billion years old, but Earth Day has only been around for 46.

  • To celebrate Earth Day, the popular online game and app "Agar.io" has a free limited time only Earth Day skin! Grab it now so you can spread Earth Day awareness!

Overall, try to do something nice for the Earth today. It can be as simple as recycling a water bottle, or even something like planting a tree! I hope you can help make the world a better place.

The Earth Day Post!

Today is Earth Day!

This is a day when we especially care for the planet! It originated from senator, Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin. He was very concerned about the damage humans were doing to the Earth. Therefore, he decided to make up a national holiday called Earth Day! He created this holiday on April 22, 1970. That is the same day, not year, that we celebrate Earth Day! Different people do different things to do on Earth Day. Some people might look at a globe, and some things we are doing are:

  • Planting a tree or two.
  • Taking out the trash in our nearby forest. (Like we did in the past.)
  • Maybe building a chicken coop for our chicks and building a tree house or a new hut next to the old one that surprisingly wasn't demolished during Hurricane Sandy. (I bet you never knew that, eh? Me and Kevin used to go out there and have some fun!)
Note: My grandparents are coming over! My grandfather is a really good builder! he built a fence for our mini garden, and he built our old hut! He is amazing!

That's is not all YOU can do though, because here are some more things!
Such as:

  • Closing the lights
  • Closing the sink/shower head
  • Reuse plastic and other recycled things to make new objects
  • Don't use the hose often when washing something
  • Ride a bike instead of a car
  • Use the dishwasher when it is full of dirty plates
  • Don't flush smoke butts
That's all folks, so BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arca's note: I did break the school record, so take that, Xiang! Mr. D said it himself.

My New YouTube Videos!

Hi! Haven't heard from me for a long time, eh? Well, here I am with two new YouTube videos. They are both pretty good and one is a really big surprise. I won't tell you what it is, though, because you have to look at the videos. Look at the first one first otherwise you are going to ruin the surprise and be a big party pooper. Hint: They are about something to do with Star wars

Speaking of Star Wars, there is this awesome video that summarizes the Star Wars episodes one, two, three four, five, and six. [ARCA's NOTE: The following is not true. I watched the video and know that it does include Return of the Jedi which is episode 6.] According to Xiang: "I am not sure about the six though". I rate it a:

Concert Success #1

The concert was a success! It was pretty good, overall.  The star wars theme song was great! So was Let's Go Band! (GO 5TH GRADE BAND!!!) Put there was one tiny mistake at the beginning...Xiang said that the 1/6 stormtrooper had the same race of Finn (which was true ) but... STORMTROOPERS DON'T CARRY IGNITED LIGHTSABERS because they can : 1. cut their master's hands/limbs (picture 1 down) or (If you are fine with disturbing things, you can highlight the things in black. 2. CUT THEIR MASTER"S OR LEADER"S BODY PARTS!!!                                   3. Etc, STOMACH, FINGERS< HEART< LUNGS OR INTESt   CONCERT SUCCESS!^

But rebellious children are naughty!
Xiang Note:
I have to agree with Kevin. Here are the videos for the Band Concert. I recommend you turn on the sound otherwise, it looks like we aren't doing anything. This is especially for the people who did not see our famous performance!

The New Guy and His Prank.

Hi everybody- i'm Kevin. the new contributor. I'm also a friend of Xiang.  Just like Xiang, I also have a prank. I don't recommend doing this one.

  1. Wrap some wrapping paper on a very large package and fill with something that makes a sound like a box filled with lego pieces. Tell your brother/sister (must be under 9 yrs old) that they just got a new $1000 computer ( or just something they like.)  and it's downstairs. (if you live in a one story house, consider saying: " It's at the couch!!") While they are gone, go inside their bedroom  and lock the door. THEN TRASH THE ROOM!!! THROW BELONGINGS!!! RIP OUT BLANKETS!!! DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A STEAMROLLER JUST PLOWED THROUGH THEIR ROOM!!! MUAHAHAHAHA! Then, unlock the door, close the door, and run into the bathroom and lock the door.  Once your brother/sister realizes their $1000 gift is just a big box filled with stuff, they will go into their room and FREAK OUT!!! HAHAHA! Just a warning: If your brother/sister finds out, you will be in big trouble. (lots of pain from your parents.)

New Contributor!

There's a new contributor to this blog. His name is:

KEVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Let's Cheer Up The Mood!

Now, now, Arca is moving. He can still contact me through comments, and Gmail. I'm not saying this is something small since he was about to move last time to Texas. They didn't move, it turns out. I AM JUST KIDDING! YOU DID NOT THINK I WOULD FALL FOR THE PRANK RIGHT! Now, let's cheer up the mood with a couple of made up pranks that would be illegal in the family. (Note, I didn't actually do these.) SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
  • Scare your brother/sister by acting as a bloody murderer. WARNING! This has to be acted on a brother/sister at least 10 years old or less. Don't do it to old people. They could get a heart attack. Put some ketchup on your black shirt, wear a black jacket or turtle neck, wear a ski mask or some kind of scary mask, and hold a plastic and realistic knife or gun in front of your brother and say "GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!" Where stilts or cups on your feet. Make sure they are sturdy. Things will get really ugly when you crack the cups based on your mom. Trust me. This will make you look taller. I guarantee that there is a 90% chance that your brother/sister would scream and cry, but realize that it was just you, then tell any of your parents. Then your mother will start to slap your butt.
  • When your brother gets a big bottle of soda, convince him/her to go away for a minute or two. Then, start shaking the bottle with all your might (be on the lookout for your brother or sister, you don't know how curious kids are today.), then offer it to him/her, and go to a safe distance out of the blast range of the soda (make sure you have an electronic with you to record this and send it to Youtube or whatever video site you want.) They are in for a sugary big surprise. Warning! Hide as soon as you are done recording. PARENTS ARE AFTER YOU!
  • Trash your brother/sister's room. Throw their stuff in random places and take something big and valuable to make it look like a burglar/robber was searching through your room and stealing something. Crack the netting if there is in addition to the window and open the window.  Cautions: Make it very quiet. Don't let them see you. Do it while at midnight. Check if your brother is sleeping. (Put a water bottle in their room just in case if they ask "What are you doing?" You can then say, "I wanted water.") Do not do this in a very windy day. If your dad owns a mansion, do not do this. They have security cameras. If your family owns a tiny house (no offense though.), do not destroy anything.

THAT'S IT FOLKS!

The Biggest Post I Have Ever Wrote Talking About Our Trip To The Aquarium And Some Other Museums

Ok, first off, this is a really big post and I split it into sections which I have never done before. This is about our trip to the aquarium in Baltimore. In a separate post, there will be all the pictures I took. It's a lot and at least 10 pictures. We went to all of the parts and there are six levels (not the game type of level) if I am not mistaken. I forgot some parts, but don't blame me! It took me a long time to get the pictures emailed from my dad' sand mom's iPhone. Anyways, time to start!

Level 1:
There wasn't much on level one. We went to a souvenir shop (which by the way, my brother bought a shark grabber) , a coin machine which we got two elongated pennies, and a 4-D theater with three SpongeBob movies and a Sea Monster movie. We weren't  particularly interested in SpongeBob so we watched Sea Monster which was about these dollies (I think that is how you spell it) that survive in the extremely dangerous Jurassic seas where tylosaurus, cronosaurus, and other dangerous sea reptiles roam. A "ground aquarium" was available which included a variety of fish, one gigantic sea turtle as in three people ride on back gigantic (it was missing a flipper) , several reef sharks, a giant Ray, and a wobblegong shark in the reefs. In addition, we saw the divers go through the process of feeding time! The divers were cleaning the walls which has nothing to do with feeding and handing the giant sea turtle cabbage (sorry, lettuce) to eat. Also, the dolphin show was available and we arrived just in time to see them do a handful of neat tricks such as flipping in the air, shooting into the sky and doing free fall, splashing the crowd, putting a pole in the air that is hanging a whistle and having the dolphin blow the whistle, and playing with a ball. All of the tricks earned some who as and wows. That pretty much concludes the first level. Actually, there was a shark tank with the sand bar shark, nurse shark, and bull shark I think. Above that, there lots of fish but this particular one caught my eye. There was this big long fish swimming speedily with five fish behind it like body guards. Now that ends it! Maybe this wasn't as long as I thought.

Level 2:
This level showed a variety of fish. There an exhibit with rock fish. I could see three of them camouflaging in the coral, but I didn't see the last one, but my mom pointed it out to me. Let's see if you could find it on the picture way down below! Furthermore, a weird fish in a tank had a hump which was weird. Basically, all there was here was just a variety of weird and not so weird fish in tanks.

Level 3:
This level, in my opinion, was the best! It had a feeling chamber. Horseshoe crabs crawled, and rays of different kind (that don't hurt you) swam. The rules were simple, you could not touch the nose, eyes, or the under part of the animal's body. Touching the horseshoe crab felt like I was touching a rock. A misshapen rock. The Ray's spine was bony, but the "wings" were soft. Several times, the Ray surfaced. Speaking of touching tanks, we also got to touch moon jellyfish. Now speaking of jellyfish, we visited the Jelly Invasion exhibit which was all about jellyfish obviously. There were different kinds of jellies, moon, red, blue, peach, purple, pink and lion jellyfish. A video in the exhibit featured jellyfish being poured onto ships and flooding the ships. It took pretty much an hour to clean the mess up. Since the crew used fishing nets, they got a ton of jellyfish. When they poured it onto the ship, it was like "jellies. Jellies. MORE JELLIES!" It was incredible. NOT. There was a tank with a flounder and an unpuffed puffer fish.

Level 4:
THIS level was short. The exhibits were displayed in tanks, One that was extreme was an octopus. The octopus opened many jars. Well, I didn't actually see it, but I saw empty jars. As we moved on, I observed the weird long necked turtle. In that tank, there was also a fish sticking to the glass of the tank. That's all I remember for this level. I guess you think this is boring. Not the octopus part.

Level 5:
The 5 stars the Amazon Rainforest/River. My favorite in this level was the pig nosed turtle. Look in the pictures below. I labeled them. There were also enormous catfish and snapping turtle like turtles. And a variety of fish of course. So much fish. Now, for some reason, you got to bird watch in the makeshift forest. To make it even more realistic, they added humidifiers to make makeshift rain. This is outdoors. Indoors, we saw Florida Gardners, I think that is what they are called. You, know, I wrote this yesterday, so don't blame me if I forgot some things.

Level 6:
There is no level 6.

Images:

 Can you see the flounder?

We went to a wax museum the next day. It was boring. That sums it up. Now lets make this simple. We went to a spy museum. We saw cool gadgets and different ways to spy. The End.
